Aisha Hinds is an American actress best known for playing roles in the television shows The Shield and True Blood. She has proven her versatility since 2003 by delivering outstanding performances on TV shows such as 9-1-1 Detroit 1, 1-8-7 and Under the Dome. The first time she was noticed was for her role as Anna in the film Assault on Precinct 13. However it was her performance as feminist activists Fannie Lou Hamer on the film biographical All the Way that finally earned her acclaim as an actress. Hind is also being acknowledged for her performance in the role she played in the role of Harriet Tubman within WGN America's historical drama series Underground. She currently stars on the procedural drama series 9-1-1 in the leading role of firefighter/paramedic Henrietta Hen Wilson. 9-1-1 is renewed for a third season with 20th Century Fox Television. Hind completed filming for the Hollywood film Godzilla: King of the Monsters which is set to be released by the middle of 2019. Her father Krishnaraj, who was an Army Scientist who passed away on March 18 2017 and her mother Vrinda have both been housewives. There is an older brother Aditya Rai who is an engineer for the Merchant Navy. Bachchan's older brother Aditya Rai coproduced and cowrote Dil Ka Rishta along with their mother. Arya Vidya Mandir School was her school of choice in Mumbai after moving to Mumbai together with the family. She finished her secondary education through Jai Hind College for a one year, before transferring to D.G. Ruparel College in Matunga where she received a 90% on the H.S.C. exams. Her adolescence was spent studying music and classical dance for 5 years. Her most loved study was Zoology. Bachchan was studying architecture at the time she won the title of Miss World in 1994. The award catapulted her into modeling's rapid pace. Additionally, she received the lucrative offer from L'Oreal Paris as spokesmodel in 2003. With praised roles such as Iruvar (1997), and Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya (1997) the actress's acting career was off to an impressive beginning. The two films challenged the traditional structure that characterized Bollywood films at the time and pushed Bachchan to prominence in her own New Bollywood. Bachchan became the New Queen of Bollywood after her portrayal as the title character in Devdas 2002, one of the most acclaimed Bollywood film. This film also became the first Bollywood movie to show at Cannes Film Festival. The following year she won high praise for her role as Chokher Bali (2003) an intense drama based on Rabindranath Tagore's story. The actress was the first Indian to be on the jury for the Cannes Film Festival. Bachchan was on screen in Gurinder Chadha's Bride and Prejudice a musical and dance version to Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. Bachchan was able to bring both her glam power and her beauty to her most acclaimed English film. In 2006, Bachchan returned to Bollywood by starring in the hit movie Dhoom: 2 before releasing Provoked: The True Story (2006). She was married to Abhishek Bachchan, who is a co-star, who is the daughter of Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan. This marriage brought two of India's most powerful individuals together.
