Sasha Allen who is an openly transgender woman who sang transgender, making it onto the Live Shows of The Voice, made history when they got there. Sasha Allen was the very first in 21 years of The Vocal competitions Sasha had made it beyond into the Battle Rounds. They are now the two from Newtown, Conn., has gone one move further to be in the top 8! Sasha has announced that he's transgender as part of the Blind Auditions package. He stated to Parade.com that it took some time in making that choice. Sasha was transgender in high school and stated that it was difficult to reveal such the vulnerability of his character to so many people. The week before, during fan week, seeing the love and support of fans, their reaction and how that affected people showed it was worth it. The song was played before The Voice even existed. We were so excited at the time we received it. We knew the song. had already heard; it was a song we knew we had ideas to arrange.
